I'm a pet portrait artist for the most part, and really enjoy doing the cartoons and caricatures. I did step away from it for a couple of years to focus on gallery works and to have a solo show....but now that's over, I find myself leaning back towards the lighter, fun stuff.

How many artists does it take to change a light bulb? *Ten. One to change it, and nine to reassure him about how good it looks. How many modern artists does it take to change a light bulb? *Four. One to throw bulbs against the wall, one to pile hundreds of them in a heap and spray-paint it orange, one to glue light bulbs to a cocker spaniel, and one to put a bulb in the socket and fill the room with light while all the critics and buyers are watching the fellow smashing the bulbs against the wall, the fellow with the spray-gun, and the cocker spaniel. :evillaugh: How many surrealists does it take to change a light bulb? Nice to find DA

When I was in Omaha, I was a part of something very special. A place called Hot Shops Art Center.  Hot Shops is a 100+ year old Serta mattress factory converted into four galleries, 40 art studios and 80 studio artists.  The anchor studios are a glassblower, a ceramicist, and an ironworks forge, thus the name. I had a studio there for two years, which was no time at all compared to most of the artists - once you have a studio in Hot Shops, you dig in your heels and hang on tight! It was magical, to be influenced by all the art you passed every day...the smells, the sounds, the spirit of the place. I got great joy from critiques of my works-

Something to check out!  #Wild-Artists (https://www.deviantart.com/wild-artists)  Some really great talent in there! I have to leave for my part time job in a bit, just started a new gig training dogs at a nearby pet supply superstore that advocates animal adoption. (People in the US, you'll guess the name of the shop quite easily.)  I usually really look forward to going in to work, but today I wish to be arty. :)  Ah, isn't that usually the case, though...art cravings come on when there's no time.  You want what you can't have.

Hey now that you're getting the "hang" of it (dA), you should explore some clubs to join and get the exposure you deserve.
Yay! :)

How do I seek out clubs?
Oh...in the "Search" field, search the word "club", some deviants have been kind enough to dedicate a page for lists of them. Just be aware that some clubs are not active, but all you need to do is look at the latest deviation's submission date. The skies the limit!!!!
